Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen of Dirt Track Racing! My name is Luke Matheson, owner of http://arkansasdirtracing.com. I have decided recently to come on as a writer for The Dirt Racing Connection. I will be covering races mostly in Arkansas, but will also venture outside of the State at times as well.
Around these parts, the Open Wheel Modified, Late Model, and Sprint Cars are the main attraction. In Arkansas, you will see modified shows such as the Scrapp Fox Memorial race at Beebe Speedway, the Topless Modified Nationals at I-30 Speedway, USMTS Modifieds at various tracks across the State, as well as several other shows which feature the Open Wheel Modified.
In Late Model Action, Arkansas has been privileged enough to have two wonderful regional series take root in the state this year. The AMP Late Model Series and the MSRA Late Model Series have both been successful in bringing Super Late Model Action back to the local tracks of Arkansas in their inaugural season. Monticello Speedway has brought in the Storm Pay Crate Late Model Series, and Batesville holds the $46,000 to win Topless Late Model race each year, while the SUPR Late Model Series still makes stops in Arkansas as well.
In Sprint car action, I-30 Speedway is the main attraction for Sprints in Arkansas, as they run 360 Sprints on a weekly basis. On top of that, I-30 holds the Short Track Nationals each year which draws some of the Nation’s top 360 Sprint car racers in for the 3 day event to close out the season each year, as well as several ASCS Sprint Car Series races.. Riverside Speedway was able to draw the World of Outlaw Sprint cars this year, and had a very successful race. The WoO also visits Batesville Speedway from time to time as well.
So as you can see, there is plenty of racing action for the Open Wheel Modified, Late Model and Sprint Car fans in the State of Arkansas. If you are not from Arkansas, and are ever in the area during racing season, a good race is not hard to find, as we have many fine tracks who put on some great shows for the fans. I look forward to bringing you all more information from Arkansas Dirt Racing very soon. Be safe in your travels to various tracks and events, and I hope to see you all at a track somewhere don the road!
