2008 North/South 100 Rants and Ramblings - By: John Sullivan

-I am the only person in the house who correctly predicted Jeremy Payne would set fast time. He looked wicked fast in hotlaps. To say I was impressed is the understatement of the year.
-95 cars, damn. Not much junk either, alot of fast cars went home.
-Audie McWilliams and Terry Casey. Turkeys of the weekend. Audie more so than Casey. Casey took his lumps and loaded up, Audie acted like a 6 year old. They are both losers, who were drastically UNDER punished for cheating.
-How were we supposed to know which cars were in their designated groups during qualifying? It was confusing.
-Womens volleyball is hot. Sorry, I was just watching it right now.
-Wayne Chinn should have plowed Don Oneal much harder exiting the track after the heat race.
-Drinking of the “Double Bubble” should be an olympic event.
-Jim and Wayne Chinn are some damn classy people.
-Freddy Smith making the show was awesome. It made my weekend.
-Josh Mcguire did not run well because he expended all his energy riding his bicycle through the pits.
-It was great to have my friend, Jody Shannon, back in the stands heckling people with me.
-Not having hotlaps on Saturday was a nice exclusion to the event.
-The delayed start on Saturday was a nice inclusion to the event.
-My ears were much more pleased when Brad was on the microphone.
-SUHNOCO….. NOT SNOCO
-It was nice to see the pace car not break down this year. Nice job filling the tanks.
-Terry Phillips has a strong team going.
-Although I am not a fan, Jerry Rice had me on my feet. Great job to those guys!
-How long has Audie been on his “Marshmallow Tires”?
-Darren Miller!
-The pits were filled with nice looking females. Leaving me to often say,”Thatza NIICE!”
-The Marshofer/BirkMars chassis looks good.
-The front lot should be reserved for parking. The parking looked worse than Scott James.
-Tony Brewer was the fastest “legit” Florence qualifier. Awesome!
-Scott Bloomquist watched the second pure stock heat, and got a nice chuckle out of it.
-Earl Pearson Jr. must have been on a Scott James setup.
-PLEASE COOK MORE FOOD NEXT YEAR!
-The North/South is getting larger each year, and I love it!
All in all, I had a great weekend. This race was definitely the most fun I had all year, as I got to spend it with a ton of good friends. The only real detriments to the weekend, were the typical lackluster heat races, and the AWFUL concession stand ordeals. My season will come to an end after the Earl Baltes classic, as I have elected to spend more time with my family. Thanks to all those who made this years North/South a wonderful time!
