Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Cedar Ridge Speedway on May 18 

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is set to return to competition as its quest for a 2013 series champion continues on Saturday May 18 at Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY with an event that will pay $1,500 to the winner.  The event was originally scheduled for April 27, but fell victim to inclement weather.    

The Saturday May 18 event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will take place at Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY.  The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $1,500 to win/$200 to start A-Main event.  Also on the racing card at Cedar Ridge Speedway on Saturday May 18 will be Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Cruisers, Rusty Bolts, and UMP Mini Stocks

Wet Weather Prompts Reshuffling Of This Weekend’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series Schedule

imageWet weather has prompted a reshuffling of this weekend’s scheduled World of Outlaws Late Model Series events.

Tonight’s WoO LMS show set for I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., has been postponed one day to Saturday night (May 11) while Saturday’s originally scheduled program at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss., has been canceled, track and series officials announced on Friday morning.

Full Speed Ahead For World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100’ May 25-26 At Tyler County Speedway

Thanks to John Watson and the Hometown Racing Association, the huge World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100’ doubleheader on May 25-26at Tyler County Speedway is steaming full speed ahead.

Any uncertainty about the status of the national tour’s Memorial Day weekend visit to the quarter-mile oval in the hills of West Virginia following last week’s cancelation of the ‘Bullring Bonanza’ mega-raffle by the Tyler County Fireman’s Association due to lack of ticket sales was erased by a quick response from Watson and Co.

Spring Nationals Visit to Boyd’s Speedway Postponed to May 17 Due to Flooding

In advance of tonight’s Spring Nationals showdown at the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee, series officials announced earlier this afternoon that tomorrow’s program scheduled for the Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia has been postponed due to flooding at the racetrack. The $4,000 to win event at Boyd’s is now scheduled for next Friday, May 17. Boyd’s will now serve as the final points night for the inaugural Spring Nationals tour.

The Yantz Family Now Own Ponderosa Speedway; Next Race is Set for Friday May 17

Ponderosa Speedway now officially has new owners as current promoter Larry Yantz, along with current co-promoters, son and daughter-in-law Chad and Sarah Yantz, are now the owners of the historic 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” as of Thursday afternoon.

Previous track owner Kevin Colston informed the Yantz family around mid-week of his intentions as he and his family are wanting to pursue some other interests outside of racing and an agreement was reached earlier today (Thursday) that will see the Yantz family assume ownership of the track and the Yantz family would like to wish Mr. Colston the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Chad Stapleton charged to his third-straight feature win on Friday night in his #32 Stapleton Motorsports/Rightway Construction/Skeletor Core/Barry Wright/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model on a night that was made emotional by a much-respected competitor, who fell ill.

Chad continued his recent hot streak by powering his #32 Rightway Construction/Barry Wright Super Late Model to his third straight victory with a triumph in the $1,500-to-win event at Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio) on Friday evening.  He started the night by winning his heat race, and then leading every lap of the feature.

Second Try: World of Outlaws Late Model Series Set To Visit I-30 Speedway & Whynot Motorsports Park This Weekend

After nearly two extra months of buildup, the time has finally come for the inaugural World of Outlaws Late Model Series events at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. (Fri., May 10) and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss. (Sat., May 11).

And make no mistake – the anticipation for this weekend’s pair of races, which were postponed by bad weather in late March, is running sky high.
