A few weeks back we asked everyone to draw their favorite moment from the 2012 season by way of MS Paint. These crude illustrations will help us remember the previous racing season, and will be the first piece of content on this website for the year 2013. Here is a collection of drawings done by our staff, fans, and friends.

As I began my two and a half hour drive to Moler Raceway Park I had many questions, like, who would show up? How cold would it really get? How would the track be from it being a day race? These questions would be answered very well when I arrived at the Williamsburg bullring at around 1:30. The first thing I noticed was how nice the people down there were, which is something you don’t see much nowadays. Next as I got my armband I went on my investigation of what drivers where there, which included Colin and Brandon Thirlby, Duane Chamberlain, Davey McWilliams, Chad Stapleton, K.C Burdette and Robert “Booger” Garnes, just to name a few.

A little past 3:30pm we crossed over the Johnson County line. Secluded couldn’t even begin to describe the 40 mile, yet hour and half drive from my work to the track. Conditions were prime, especially for mid-November. Eager to mark off number 37 of my race track counter, we winded down the still secluded Highway 201.

As days grow shorter, and nights get colder, I sit back and can’t help but wonder. Where the Hell did our summer go? It seems like just last week we were filling our coolers, and planning sleeping arrangements for the next infield or parking lot camp out. The sounds, of distant howls, of comrades of the clay fade, as well as the rumble of engines in the pits. As for the tracks and races that I attended, there was a few that went on without a hitch„ and some that were marathons of dust, that crept into the pre dawn hours of the a.m. side of the clock. There was also a few races on on my list that didn’t pan out. The tribulations of everyday life contributed to that. So in the same fashion as last year, I will try to organize the races that stood out on my list for approval, greatness, disgust or just out right fun. So, with that being said here we go…

As I sit here and type this, I look out the window and see that the trees are bare of leaves. This means one thing and one thing only, the end of the racing season in this part of the country. So, it must be time to write a yearly review for 2012 and look foward to next year.
This season marked the first of many in my racing photography career. I made many new friends and a ton of memories that will last, hopefully forever. To date, I have attended roughly 37 races this season, all of them, except for one have been on dirt. Race 38 on the year will be marking my first ever trip to Moler Raceway Park for the Turkey Gobbler 40 on November 17th. Tracks I visited this year included Jackson County Speedway,Midway Speedway,Skyline Speedway and Brushcreek. The lone asphalt track I visited this year was Columbus Motor Speedway. I also made trips to three kart tracks this season, which were VC Raceway, Ohio Valley Raceway and Midway Raceway, where one my most forgettable moments happened this season.
