Jared Landers tames Cherokee Speedway while taking second-straight March Madness event

Jared Landers of Batesville, AR made a clean sweep of the 2013 edition of March Madness at Cherokee Speedway on Sunday Evening March 3rd co-sanctioned by the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series and the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.
 
This was back to back March Madness wins for the driver of the Clint Bowyer Motorsports entry. This was also Landers’ first-career Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series victory as he opened the 31st year of competition for SAS leading all 60 laps of the main event for the $10,000 payday after starting in fourth spot. Landers also became the 158th different winner in series history.

Cherokee Speedway Signs on with SECA for 2013

imageThe newly formed South Eastern Crate Association is pleased to announce that in 2013 the drivers from Cherokee Speedway will be eligible for the City Chevrolet Weekly Championship. Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney S.C is dubbed as “The place your momma warned you about.” The action is always fast and exciting in the crate late model division.  In 2012 Cherokee averaged between 15-18 crate late models per week. “We see no reason for this to change in 2013, I feel that SECA will provide our drivers with another shot at some extra money.  Drivers are familiar with the rules, and the layout of what SECA is offering, and from a promoters standpoint, I feel like we need to try and keep our weekly drivers at home, give them a chance to win more than just track points” stated Cherokee Promoter Lennie Buff.
