Racing action at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway continued on Saturday, April 27th with Mike Pegher, Jr. scoring a convincing victory over Joe Martin in the Precise Racing Products RUSH Pro-Late Model Spring Sizzler 25. Jeff Bronszewski picked up his first win in Sunoco Race Fuels Late Model Sportsman action while Michael Norris claimed his second in Diehl of Robinson Super Late Model Division main event. Christian Schneider also tallied another Hobby Stock win and Roman O’Neill was the winner in Young Guns action.

Clanton Shows The Way In World of Outlaws Late Model Series Return To Smoky Mountain Speedway

Everything fell Shane Clanton’s way on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway. 

Taking advantage of an outside pole starting spot and some well-placed caution flags, Fayetteville, Ga.’s Clanton had just enough speed to hold off a late challenge from Steve Casebolt Jr. of Richmond, Ind., and capture the ‘Mountain Outlaw 50.’

Gustin Family Affair in Victory Lane at Marshalltown

Finally racing action return to the Marshalltown Speedway after being rained out two straight weeks. The night would see some great two, three and even four wide racing all night which lead to several exciting finishes in the features on Kruse Family Night.  Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated Editor Karl Fredrickson was on hand to enjoy the night of racing. 

Jon Snyder jumped into the early lead in the Amsoil IMCA Modified feature but it would be Richie Gustin getting by on lap four. Snyder stayed close before falling back meanwhile Jimmy Gustin and Luke Wanninger was working there way up to second and third. Richie Gustin, Jimmy Gustin and Luke Wanninger got into a three car battle for the top spot.  Richie Gustin held on to the lead until Jimmy Gustin would make the clean pass off turn 4 coming to the checkers. Jimmy Gustin would get the win with his brother Richie Gustin holding off Luke Wanninger for second. Ronn Lauritzen and Adam Larson rounded out the top 5.

A cool and crisp evening awaited the Tyler County Speedways faithful for the 39th Annual Season Opener.  A pit full of racers and a nice crowd of brave souls weathered the frigidly cool temps as the green flag would officially wave on the 2013 season.

An awesome opening ceremony would set the tone for a highly competitive evening of action as the Tyler County Speedway paid a special tribute to Veterans and last seasons track champions before local singer Nancy Kester would perform a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

After a rainout and a special race event last Saturday night, weekly “Steel Valley Thunder” racing action returns to Sharon Speedway this Saturday night, April 27. Racing will get underway at 7 p.m. featuring a six-division program of Governor Insurance Agency DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Barris Supply RUSH Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks. 

Saturday’s promotion includes free admission for youth sports and scouts in uniform. Saturday’s home-cooked meal is beef macaroni with roll and butter. Lucas Oil MLRA Storms into Oklahoma

After a weekend off, the Lucas Oil MLRA heads south this weekend to compete in the state of Oklahoma. Friday racing is scheduled for Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, OK, and Saturday the wheels roll onto Tri State Speedway in Pocola, OK. “We wanted to take the series and Lucas Oil into some new markets this year,” commented Dan Robinson Series Director.”It has been several years since MLRA has been to either track. We’re glad to be racing in Oklahoma this weekend.”

Ponderosa Speedway Welcomes Australian Driving Duo for Racing on Friday April 26

Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz would like to take the opportunity to welcome a pair of racers that will be competing at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 26 from the country of Australia.

Ross Nicastri of Goulburn, Australia and Bruce MacKenzie of Sydney, Australia are visiting in the United States at this time as guest of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitor Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and the duo will racing this Friday April 26 at Ponderosa Speedway.  Nicastri will drive the Frank’s Auto Parts sponsored #3 Barry Wright Race Car entry, while MacKenzie will pilot the Time Target/Frank’s Auto Parts sponsored #6 MasterSbilt Race Car mount.  Francis, who has an off-weekend from Lucas Oil series action, will also join the pair at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 26 in the role of crew chief and consultant.
